About Youth for Good Governance (YfGG)

YfGG is a civic and social organization that was established on 15th August, 2020 and is based out of Bangalore, Karnataka, India. At YfGG, it is believed that “You have the power to create change.” The organization mainly focuses on Good Governance.

In the context of development, good governance measures how public institutions conduct public affairs and handle public resources. It is a way to make governing bodies responsible for catering to the needs of the masses. Good governance is participatory, consensus oriented, accountable, transparent, responsive, effective and efficient, equitable and inclusive, and follows the rule of law. These 8 principles form the core of Good Governance.

YfGG is an initiative to provide a platform to young policymakers and development practitioners or any like-minded individuals with information aboit good governance practices, create a citizen engagement platform for common citizens, especially students and youth, to actively engage with the local government to enhance the spirit of participatory governance.

Vision and Mission of YfGG

YfGG aims to create a very diverse space in the field of Good Governance and Policy by creating a meaningful platform for information literacy on Democracy Citizenship and Governance, an enabling environment through capacity building and training, and researching on relevant fields and focusing on advocacy. It gives emphasis to the 4E Model that stands for Enabling, Empowering, Equipping and Encouraging Youth to be an active participant of Governance and Development.

YfGG aims to achieve its vision and goals through various online activities such as webinars, workshops, online interviews and creating direct engagement with the citizens and governments. The organization also wishes to provide a platform to students and youth in the field of good governance and policy through internships, fellowships and training courses. Overall, YfGG plans to create a compact all in one go to place for the citizens regarding Good Governance and Social Development.
